Chinese Medical Massage
TuiNa is a medical massage therapy that integrates Eastern and Western diagnostic techniques to treat a range of health problems. It affects soft tissue and corrects structural misalignment. It is an effective pain therapy as it encourages blood to injured sites, soothes muscle spasm and accelerates the natural healing process.
During the first consultation a full medical history is taken; any specific health concerns are discussed, and the tongue and pulse are examined. A diagnosis is formulated and an individual treatment plan is prescribed. Clients may remain clothed in loose clothing during a session. Various techniques are available to the practictioner such as rolling, kneading, hitting, pinching and sweeping.
